Renée Amilcar, General Manager, Transit Services Department (TSD), and Michael Morgan, Director, Rail Construction Program, presented an overview of the report recommendations and answered questions from the Commission. A copy of the slide presentation is filed with the Office of the City Clerk.

The City’s consultants Sameh Aboukricha and Laurent Jean (SYSTRA), also responded to questions from Committee.

There were no public submissions to Committee on this item.

After discussing the item, Committee considered the following recommendation and direction to staff.

Paul Treboutat, Chief Safety Officer, also responded to questions from Committee.

There were no public submissions to Committee on this item.

After discussing the item, Committee considered the following recommendations.

  • Report Recommendations

    That the Light Rail Sub-Committee recommend that Council:

    1. Approve the reporting process to Council for the Trial Running Period of the Line 2 and Line 4 extensions (Trillium Line and Airport Link), as outlined in this report; and
    2. Direct the Transit Services Department to provide daily reports to Council advising of the outcome for the previous day’s Trial Running, including the on-time performance, as outlined in this report; and
    3. Direct the Transit Services Department to provide a technical briefing once Trial Running is complete, as outlined in this report.
