Direction to staff (Councillor D. Hill)

That Transit Services staff be directed to provide an update to the Transit Commission in Q1 of 2025 on the work to date to evaluate the feasibility of purchasing additional diesel high-capacity buses to supplement Phase 1 of the Zero Emissions Bus Program.

Direction to staff (Councillor T. Tierney)

Due to the urgent nature, for the 60 foot buses, please provide monthly updates or as soon as any opportunity presents itself to acquire the used fleet as the new buses would be available until Q4 2026 even if we ordered today.

Due to the continued open access to the terminus station at Blair with $205.00 fine to cross a transitway into the station to avoid fares and $260.00 fine for fare evasion.

What immediate and longer-term actions can be taken. (See the image on file with the City Clerk.)

Provide the information on the following in regards to the LRT platforms:

  1. The number of Special Constables we have, and how they are distributed at the transit stations (volume, incident based?)
  2. The number of incidents and/or calls for each platform for the year 2024 until now.

Please provide the number of operational 60 foot articulated, buses, and their years of service.


Lastly, please provide how many double-deckers are still operating and how this fits with the plan to not acquire any more double-deckers.
