French Language Services Advisory Committee Mid-Term Report 2023-2026

Melanie Blais provided an overview of the FLSAC's mid-term report. Robert Tremblay, Program Manager, Council and Committee Services answered questions from the Committee.

Linda Savard et Marcel Morin, representatives of the Maison de la Francophonie d’Ottawa, spoke before the Committee and provided comments on the item.

• Recommendation

  That the French Language Services Advisory Committee approve its mid-term report, and recommend that the Finance and Corporate Services Committee receive the report.

Presentation - Orientation session for members of FLSAC

The following staff provided a presentation on the item, and answered questions from the Committee. A copy of the slide presentation is filed with the Office of the City Clerk.

  That, as set out in the 2022-2026 Mid-term Governance Review report (ACS2025-OCC-GEN-0001), approved by City Council on January 29, 2025, the French Language Services Advisory Committee approve the replacement French Language Services Advisory Committee Procedure By-law (Document 1).

Member Mireille Brownhill asked if it would be possible for staff to provide Advisory Committee members with links to news articles that are relevant to members of FLSAC. Nathalie Lemire, Coordinator, French Language Services (FLS), Municipal Elections and French Language Services Department, indicated that staff can look into this request and determine whether FLS can provide this information to members of the Advisory Committee.
