Prescription Drug Drop Off

Chair El-Chantiry asked if OPS staff have been working with the City’s Wastewater Services Branch regarding this issue, as they are very concerned about drugs being disposed of by flushing them down toilets.  Chief Bordeleau was unaware of any work being done with the City at this time.  Part of the campaign message is to enlighten the community about the proper disposal method for prescription drugs.  He indicated staff would approach the City to see what else could be done in partnership to reinforce this message.  The Chair thought this approach would be very worthwhile.
